Okay, I've been told on several occasions that I lack tact. Help me out here. How does one tactfully request an adjacent coworker to eat with their mouth closed? I don't want to hurt feelings here, but seriously I'm ten feet away and playing music and I can't block out the crunching resonating from a nearby cube. Oh and the same suggestion would be helpful for slurping of coffee every morning...Please help!!!

Ugh. Good luck. I'll be coming back to see others' answers. I've been known to quit jobs over noisy eaters. Or, you know, try my best to ignore it until I reach the end of my rope and throw a very unprofessional hissy fit. lol
Grumpy can't handle the same bad habits your mentioning here and it drives him absolutely nuts when it is someone in public. To the best of my knowledge he keeps it to himself, however I certainly hear about it! It is hard when your in this kind of situation to not hurt someone's feelings. I think listening to girlinblack is probably best and do your best to ignore it...and if your like Grumpy, when you can't take it anymore, blurt it out. LOL. They will get over it. Eventually. ;o)
Aha! Rather than send said coworker a link to your blog, offer a link to someone else's blog:

LMFAO. I was reading some of the comments on that post and I was so comforted to know I'm not alone. Thank you. It's funny because another person that's in here sounds like they're chewing rocks every morning (it's so damn crunchy), but they at least chew with their mouth closed. It still annoys the crap out of me. I have to put my headphones on.
...and an afterthought...
Since when did it become acceptable to *eat at your desk*? When I finish my degrees and am in charge, there will be NO EATING. "Go somewhere else to eat! I don't want rats and you sound like one!" bwahaha
Came over from your comment today and saw this post... there are two guys at my work that were horrible about snot snorting. I mean really bad. One was grating and loogey like every 15 minutes or so, and the other was chunky every few minutes for about the first 5 hours every day.
I finally wrote them both personal emails and explained that it was bothering me. It worked, and I'm still perfectly friendly with both of them. Tact, no tact, whatever. I didn't sign up for listening to that every day. Send an email, if you haven't already, or if the person is particularly aggressive or argumentative, talk to an HR person about what's appropriate manners when cubicles adjoin.
