I am proud to have participated in such a historical election.
I am proud to be bringing a baby into a world where a man like Obama can be president.
I am proud to be living in a country which, at this moment, is filled with hope and optimism.
And as always, I am proud to be an American.
Thank you to all who voted and spent time and energy in the process. Your efforts made a difference.
P.S.
Hey Elizabeth Dole, don't let the door hit you on your way out!!

Hey Jeni, I really hope Obama does something good for this country. :) V.
I concur!!!
I was super-emotional last night, but for the silliest reason ever: The music they played during the coverage of Obama's projected victory was from "Remember the Titans," which is one of my favorite movies of all time. The movie is a bit of a tear-jerker, so I'm sitting there, ecstatic to see the U.S. has finally woken up and smelled the coffee, but also on the verge of sobbing because of the emotions brought on by the music. Maybe I was just tired. Who knows. What I do know is that "Wooooo Hooooo!" is an entirely appropriate sentiment for today!
Ha! that's exactly what we said to her during her concession speech last night.
So sad... I drove all the way there and found all stores closed getting ready for a "Estravaganza" tomorrow evening. But the food was great! I hope you can go Staurday, it will be fun! :) V.
Amen sister!!!
